Mike HommelChrome just perma-blocked my uBlock Origins ad blocker, which would make youtube unusable (AKA 'functioning as intended'). So I gave Brave a try and now I feel dumb for waiting so long. Wow, every ad, everywhere, is gone! Seems like something the Megacorps won't continue to allow, but I'll enjoy it for now.
Dr Jess Birch@hamumu It took under 24 hours between Google removing the manifest v2 system for filtering page content and me, browsing the general wide web, seeing an ad trying to auto-download a malware installer to my system. It's simply not safe to browse the web when ad companies (like Google) are only too happy to serve up malware infected ads (maybe unwittingly).
This seems like a "fight" Google can't be allowed to win. destroying our ability to browse the web more safely.
