@Em0nM4stodon I don't have a word for "without AI" nor "with AI". I'm just using basic english ^^
@Em0nM4stodon all natural intelligence
@Em0nM4stodon maybe HI, Human Intelligence
@Em0nM4stodon Normalizing "hallucinations" as an acceptable description was bad enough, lets not normalize the field as a whole by willingly relabeling the norm

@nCrazed @Em0nM4stodon huge amount of agreement here! The continued use of human-experience related terminology when referring the anything ML should be corrected. Obviously larger media outlets are going to do what they will for clicks/views for ad revenue, but even "anti-ai" movements as a whole seem to mostly still use those same terms.

"ChatGPT said/thinks..." Sorry no it didn't say anything, it doesn't speak, it doesn't think, it takes a user input, and then does what it was programed to do based on clearly defined parameters. Just because the human brain can't comprehend the scale of the datasets or the hashing / tokenization of data the way a machine can doesn't mean its magic. Its math spitting out an answer to an equation and your input is nothing more than a seed used in the calculation.

@Em0nM4stodon here to second "Organic". Though, I think there is conversation to be had about where the line is between what's considered "ai" generated and not. If general code completion in any IDE is used, then that's not technically organic. And if you consider that organic, then how advanced does the prediction algorithm have to get before its classified as AI.

I've generally enjoyed conversations on the topic, in part because most people seem to have different opinions, and even when they're similar the reasons they give tend to be different.

I'd love to know your thoughts on the topic! Specifically where you would consider the line to be. Does it need to be a specific type of algorithm, a specific structure, etc.

@Em0nM4stodon I Can't Believe It's Not AI
@cuauh Hahahaha that's my favorite so far ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘
@Em0nM4stodon define aren't using AI? Does that include the entire supply chain?
@ph00lt0 Excellent question! Yes, I think it should!

@Em0nM4stodon well i was thinking compare it to organic food. That has a set of rules that the food for animals must also be organic.

AI is everywhere. It take the stance it is nearly impossible to go without it. Surely it brings challenges and I am not an AI fanboy but I think it is better to learn how to deal with it rather than to avoid it.

@Em0nM4stodon well I doubt this it is an accurate number this kinda shows where we will be https://www.theregister.com/2025/04/30/microsoft_meta_autocoding/
30 percent of some Microsoft code now written by AI - especially the new stuff

: Satya Nadella reveals attempts to merge Word, PowerPoint, Excel, which may now happen with LLMs

The Register
@Em0nM4stodon HIP (human intelligence product)
@Em0nM4stodon "usable" is my go to word because anything with ai baked in quickly becomes a mess
@Em0nM4stodon Since there is no actual AI even in the most advanced trained models, I prefer: FullHI (100% human intelligence).
@Em0nM4stodon Natural or organic, as opposed to something machine generated. Neither feels entirely right though ๐Ÿค”
@Em0nM4stodon some variation of "organic hand rolled code"
@Em0nM4stodon Not sure if someone already posted this, but Brain Made (by @noboilerplate) is my favorite term

@Gabriel @Em0nM4stodon yeah, I tried to make something positive, rather than negative, and wasn't focussed on solely ai, because there'll always be different new generative techniques.

My core thesis is "I love humans" ๐Ÿ˜Š

@Em0nM4stodon natural stupidity
@Em0nM4stodon im capable of boing dumb on my own thank you very much i don't need a billionnaire's toy to do it for me
@Em0nM4stodon LLM free would be better. Specially trained models e g. For pattern recognition are an established tool in many fields of science from archeology to robot vision. From biology/genetics to weather forecasting.
