Too bad, I dont do Insta anymore, Fediverse is the future au the open web !
@Greguti I agree, the algoritmic dictaturship of big tech SoMe is too sycophantic and not attractive at all
@Yeahvle The prices of (mainstream)art has for years now reached a level, where art in the mid range pricelevel is priced so high, that artists tries to cash in on it by producing art that "doesn't rock the boat" to much. When artist barely out of artschool/academy can get 10-15000 $ for works that should be priced at a tenth of that, its human nature to "get in on the action",
I think you have a point about the political landscape, because some artists might not dare to bite the hand thats feeds them. But depending on what you see as political and/or provocative art, its out there if you know where to look, and I dont think thats on Insta, unless you agree with its sycophantic Overlord!
@Yeahvle
1. I dont have any idea what the owner of Meta/Insta, Mr Sucker'berg likes privately, but I do know that his algorithms wont show your artworks if they are too controversial or criticises the powers that be.
2. Like capitalism or not, which I dont, you have to relate to it every day, especially if you want to sell stuff, that be art or whatever, unless you barter: The market sets the price.
3/4. I hope Swedish artists are still allowed to seek inspiration away from home if their neighborhood is to bland or boring, or get outraged and indignated at bad shit happening daily and being broadcast every second on the internet, because I tell you: There's A LOT of injustices and human suffering happening all over the world - every day!
