Dinner tonight is Moroccan tagine of lamb. Cardoons on the bottom - that I grew from seed just to make this dish (the ultimate slow food). Blood orange from our tree - slices in the tagine and candied for serving time. Olives from our trees and brined at home. Parsley of course from the garden.

@sumisu3 Wow. Respect for the home grown. <3
@aly I keep striving more and more of what I eat. And when I can find seeds for more esoteric items I give it a try. One of my greatest pleasures and accomplishments is growing artichokes. They grow really well in my area and now I need to expand my planting area. Cardoon is related and it also is growing really well.
@sumisu3 Oo I've been thinking of adding artichokes to my garden. Your profiles says you are pretty close to me so that's a good sign!
@aly if you like artichokes it is the only way here in NZ. I have never seen them for sale anywhere. I may really grow a lot more and sell them at the Matakana market or just locally online to people who know and want them.
@sumisu3 I've seen preserved ones in jars is all. See you at the market some day. :)
