Reflecting on Chumbawamba's song "The Day The Nazis Died", I got thinking just now that no, I don't want all the Nazis dead; I want all the Nazis to definitively and effectively CEASE TO BE Nazis.

There's a subtle difference. But I think it's an important difference.

And yes there are some Nazis whom effectively can never cease to be Nazis unless they cease to be. At all. But I contend that not all Nazis.

Not even most Nazis, I would dare even bet.

A cycle of violence *can*technically*be* ended by having everyone dead. Yeah sure. I just don't think it's an ending that anyone really, really wants. Ideological nihilists included.
