@drwhax English is my native language, and the more I learn of other languages*, the fewer polite things I have to say about it.

*Except Dutch, because WTF even is that language. And it broke my German.

@KatS @drwhax I once spent a few weeks learning German[*] in preparation for visiting a friend who was staying there for a year. Got on the Eurostar, trilingual announcement in English, French and surely-this-is-German-but-why-can't-i-understand-a-word-of-it

(Yes, turned out it was Dutch)

[*] I bought a dictionary and a copy of Der Spiegel and attempted to use the one to figure out the other

@dan @KatS Dutch is a trip, as a native speaker, I also find it the most beautiful language in the world. Obviously biased here.
