Hope nobody thought they were gonna buy fresh produce this fall. We’re spending your tax dollars to pay prison contractors to build prisons for hundreds of thousands of people. Nobody will be there to plant, weed, water, and harvest. Oh, and when they finish with immigrants, the prison machine will need bodies in those beds to keep making a profit. @mcnado - you're missing that the ultimate "plan" by MAGA in this, is to have all those migrants that used to get paid in wages on farms, to instead be leased out to them as slave labor, with profits sent to private prison share holders, while the prisoners' upkeep is paid by working class people's taxes. Aka total evil.

@mcnado the prisons will “rent” out their “prisoners” to the highest bidders as slaves to bring in the harvest because your 13th amendment allows for it. I suppose if there isn’t enough profit in that, they’ll start selling them off. The question is: how many people will be willing to purchase products produced by slave labour (at any point in the process). My guess is a lot.

The prison machine doesn't make money with bodies in beds. They make money with bodies planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting. You'll still be able to buy fresh produce. Just keep not asking who picked it, like usual.
