How does one organize a large sex toy collection in a way that's both hygienic and easy to find things? ๐Ÿ˜…
@maru I feel like @SubSwitchBoy might have some insight here ๐Ÿ˜„
@HairyHypnotist @maru @SubSwitchBoy I will also suggest @bigboyjoe.bsky.social has some experience from what I have seen

I may regret sharing this, but I might have some experience with a toy collection. This is only the middle two shelves out of four total.
@Richboy50 @bootblackcub @HairyHypnotist @SubSwitchBoy @bigboyjoe.bsky.social Ohh this is a great collection! I don't have big shelves like that unfortunately...! Might have to invest ๐Ÿ˜…
@maru @bootblackcub @HairyHypnotist @SubSwitchBoy @bigboyjoe.bsky.social
Thanks! There is something in my collection for any mood I might have. The shelves are basically an inexpensive white metal shoe rack that I adapted for toy storage.
@maru well, a big help is jumbo sized ziplock bags.
Helps keep toys sperate and stay clean.
@hypnocub I was wondering if plastic bags were ok. I have cloth bags but I hate that I don't know what's in them immediately.
Also any tips for how to organize them? I'm tired of digging inside drawers and closets to find the toy I want ๐Ÿ˜‚
@maru @hypnocub following for a โ€œfriendโ€ โ€ฆ (me!)
@maru so always make sure to put them away both fully clean and dry and the clear plastic will keep them clean. Definitely don't you cloth ones.
As for organising them. Shelving space would be good or dividers within the box they are stored in may help.
@hypnocub Ok thanks for the tips! I don't have a huge collection, but I do have ยพ of my nightstand drawers full, and a whole little ikea cabinet with shelves ๐Ÿ˜…
I have put little baskets/boxes in the cabinet but mostly it's the drawers that just shuffle when opened and close that give me the hardest time haha

@maru @hypnocub @HairyHypnotist @SubSwitchBoy I have my toys and smaller gear items stored in black plastic storage crates with lids. Crate for dildos, cuffs, masks, rubber gear etc.

Dildos and plugs together in a crate. Make sure to clean your stuff right after use and store.

The things I use more frequently I have separated for easy access.

I must say I have the luxury of a playroom. Before I did I had these type of crates below my bed and bottom of my wardrobe

@hypnocub @maru @SubSwitchBoy @HairyHypnotist @Frank_NL wow, thatโ€™s a big collection of fun

@notguilty @hypnocub @maru @SubSwitchBoy @HairyHypnotist I have quite a nice playroom (there is more beyond these crates). ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ˆ the real fun is in the people I share the room with thoughโ€ฆ so who knowsโ€ฆ

When it is in normal state again I will post pictures (remind me).

It is now also bit of storage room due to a renovation of my house.

@Frank_NL @hypnocub @HairyHypnotist @SubSwitchBoy Wow! How do you find what you're looking for though? My biggest hurdle is that I have to dig through drawers and boxes to find something.

@maru @hypnocub @HairyHypnotist @SubSwitchBoy I know what is in which box (mostly). And my mind needs me to keep everything in its own place. Also as I said my favorites I have separately. For instance the GapeKeeper plugs I am training with now are ready for the grabs with the lube next to it.

I would start with getting system together: organize by type or size etc.

I would love to have it all out but that is not currently possible.

@maru Dog does this. Maybe this would work for you?

Elfa wire shelving unit with drawers makes it easy to look at toy collection. Toys are set on cotton towels, with one used in an alternating way with toys above/below it so they don't touch.

@statedog Oh that looks very handy! I don't know if I have the space for a big shelving unit like that though...! I guess I might need to invest in something better than the nightstand drawers and the small BILLY with a door that I have for now.
@maru Yeah. It's a struggle. We have clear bins under the bed and kind of try to put things back. The ones we like to use a lot, we keep in a Fortnum Mason Hamper. We are moving next year and I want to make a long wall display case that will keep dust and dog hair off them. Outside of a covered display case, I can't think of much to both keep the visible and not dirty where everything in the air sticks to them.
@SubSwitchBoy Yeah I can't really have mine displayed, but I was thinking maybe a way to store them flat in drawers that would not shuffle when opening and closing.
