@sandlapper37

Finally someone speaking the truth. Fyi the parade is not for Trump, I'm not a supporter of him either,The U.S. Army's 250th anniversary parade, held in Washington, D.C. on June 14, 2025, is estimated to have cost between $25 million and $45 million. Some reports suggest the cost could be as high as $92 million, including $13 million for police expenses alone, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting.

@ajkiller @sandlapper37
What kind of parade was held for the Army's 200th anniversary? Or their 100th? Of course it was because it coincided with Trump's birthday, nothing all that special about a 250th.

In general (and with no sympathy to Trump), it wouldn't be uncommon for some date to become important only decades or centuries after, when some event was post-facto decided to have "started" there. Famously US govt spent a lot of money for getting the map that first named the continent "America", as it was seen as "start" of the federation.
