Dire emergency #mutualaid:
Hey fedi people. Due to our landlady/boss breaking our lease agreement and not upkeeping utilities of her and our home and going on the run to avoid prosecution for embezzlement and theft 2 months ago, and abandoning her "rescue" animals in the process we now find ourselves in a deadly situation. We have 2 days to come up with $1,500 or our power gets shut off. We live in New Mexico and there is a heatwave going on. (Continued below)

We have two little girls, and I have PoTs which can get deadly in the heat. We have already paid $210 of it but have now maxed out all resources. We have no where else to go, and this is a conservative county so we have no friends here. Proof of the bill is here, but it is not accurate as we found out today on the phone. It is actually $1,500 total. Please please help if you can, and boost as much as you can! We have 2 days, possible only 1 to pay. #MutualAid

I also forgot to mention we offered to make payments but since it is a corporation ran power company they won't work with us or abide by state laws. We have an elderly man living here on hospice and oxygen (her "boyfriend" she left here when she ran. He is not able to care for himself and has no family). So this situation is very very deadly and scary. Not just for us. He can't live without his oxygen, and she ran with all his money.

I am so freaked out right now. Currently experiencing a heatwave, and in the morning we will have no power, no water access and we have two children, an elderly man on oxygen and hospice, and I have a heart condition that is impacted by heat and dehydration. We paid all we had and the corporation owned power company doesn't care or abide by state law. We contacted every church, and the utility assistant had its funding removed by Trump.

Well they shut our power off. The only positive is we called and they agreed to switch it to our name if we pay $675. Which I still can't do but at least it's lower. Please fedi, my family is in dire need. If anyone can, we desperately need the help. Us, our kids, and our elderly roommate on oxygen need your help. Please help. New amount has been added.
