Today's hike was my periodic reminder that Saskatchewan is jaw-droppingly gorgeous in ways I never expected before living here.

๐ŸŽต I can see for miles and miles, I can see for miles and miles ๐ŸŽต
@sundogplanets that's what I keep telling people!!! Ty for sharing these pictures ๐Ÿ˜
@sundogplanets
While I prefer bumpilicious landscapes, even the dead flat bits of Saskatchewan are impressive โ€“ I'm thinking of wheat fields that go on forever.
@sundogplanets โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ. indeed.
@sundogplanets That is beautiful! I always think of Saskatchewan as flat and boring which is kind of was when we drove through going from Ontario to BC but clearly there's more to the province...

@sundogplanets I've only driven across Saskatchewan (work thing) once, well twice, and your third photo reminded me of seeing โ€” middle of nowhere, in the flattest land I've ever seen โ€” some parked cars, a small building and the end point of a ski lift with the cables heading *downwards*. I'm from BC so this confused the hell out of me for a second.

Also, seeing stars from horizon to horizon at night on the drive back. That I'll also never forget. Amazing.

@tripleman Yeah, the ski hills down into a hole rather than up the side of a mountain are hilarious. Our local ski "hill" is like that - but unlike BC (where I lived for many years and never went skiing once), skiing is actually quite affordable, and it seems like a much wider swath of the population takes part because of that. I love seeing people skiing in their carhartt's coveralls! Makes me weirdly happy.
@sundogplanets I'm all for as many people as possible being able to take part in (downhill) sports. It's been a long time since I lived in Vancouver (or BC or Canada for that matter) so I have no idea what it costs now, there. I'm sure it's super cheap ๐Ÿซฃ.
