It would satisfy the individual agents' beliefs that they're badasses at war, while also giving their bosses the ability to say "See, these are violent people!" It would also satisfy the media's thirst for a big, bloody story. If it's happened but been swept under the rug I'd be pretty shocked.

@michaelgraaf It's always possible, but doesn't seem likely given how family members would likely want to go to the press. Possible they were paid off, but also I'm not sure there is an incentive to hide something like that. One would expect communities quick to violence would play into the racist narrative. My 2 cents anyway.

@AnnyJoe I would think criminals would be more likely than the average citizen to shoot at ICE, but perhaps that's why the oligarchy has so much power in the first place.
