Probably my finest work yet.

The finale of my #Dune #TTRPG campaign is approaching. The Emperor has arrived on Arrakis, bringing his Sardaukar with him. Will the players and their House side with the Emperor and House Harkonnen, or will they stand with the enigmatic desert prophet Muad'dib who's been leading a Fremen uprising?

This is the map for the climactic battle. Each hex represents a zone; military assets move between zones, make attacks, perform maneuvers, etc.

This battle will be Fremen Fedaykin vs. Imperial Sardaukar, with the players and their troops caught in the middle. Their House leadership is with the Emperor's entourage, complicating matters.

I used Midjourney to make the map, and honestly, I don't love that. Was it quick? Yes. Does it look alright? Yeah. But having gone through this exercise, I could have made a map in Dungeondraft or Wonderdraft and ended up with something just as good without all the A.I. baggage.

Lesson learned.

I used Inkscape and Photoshop to chop the map into hexagonal tile images, then used a Cricut Maker to first cut chipboard hexagons, then I turned the hexagon images into stickers which I then applied to the hexes. I designed the 3d-printed parts in Blender and printed them on a Bambu Labs P1S.

It's a work-intensive process, for sure. But I love making shit, and I love TTRPGs, and getting to combine the two is wonderful.

@Legit_Spaghetti

Can you share your scripts for this stuff somewhere?

@serge I thought about it. When this campaign is wrapped up, I'll probably do a full asset dump somewhere including image assets, 3d files, campaign log, cast of characters, etc.

@Legit_Spaghetti

Please do, and msg me if I don't catch it and Like it!
