Excited for Goat coming up soon. Although I am getting a little tired of artists coming out on stage and shouting stuff like 'how are you all doing out there?'. It is impossible to have a coherent conversation with a crowd of two hundred thousand people. No nuance. The only logical response is a scream, and that could mean anything. The artist is up there just interpreting that as 'oh they love me' when in fact it could just be a very sensible response to all of the horrors in the world.

@TheBreadmonkey I'll look forward to them too but probably when I get back from travels next week. I doubt I can do a lot more Glastonbury after Gary Numan's set. I'm getting really tired!
@TheBreadmonkey less anodyne conversational openers, more chants that get the BBC to take the stream down! I mean, that's not great if you're watching the stream, but the more disrupted Glastonbury is by the BBC censoring political messages the better.
@TheBreadmonkey The entire crowd yells back, as one, “A BIT SUNBURNT AND HOT AND STICKY AND I DIDN’T SLEEP AMAZINGLY IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS SOMETHING UNDER MY ROLLMAT BUT THERE WASN’T AND I’LL BE GLAD TO HAVE A COOL SHOWER AND GET INTO MY OWN BED TO BE HONEST HOW ABOUT YOU?”

@Nickiquote

I'M FINE THANKS BUT I'M JUST UP HERE DOING MY SET WHICH I HAVE TO GET ON WITH AS THERE ARE SOME TIME CONSTRAINTS AND WE'VE PAID A BUNCH OF PEOPLE TO DO SOME SINGING AND PLAY BONGOS AND WHATNOT AND ALSO THIS IS ON THE TELLY SO WOULD YOU MIND IF WE CATCH UP AFTER AND ALSO THANKS FOR COMING

@TheBreadmonkey @Nickiquote

OK GET ON WITH IT THEN AND MAKE SURE YOU DONT PLAY ANYTHING NEW BECAUSE WITH THE COST OF THESE TICKETS AND THE PRICES IN THE BEER TENT I AM NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING YOU PROMOTE YOUR LATEST ALBUM I JUST EXPECT TO HEAR THE HITS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOUVE PLAYED THEM

@TheBreadmonkey tbh I feel that way about most banter between bands and the audience!
@patrickhadfield @TheBreadmonkey And this is just one of the reasons I always preferred smaller bands in smaller venues...
@patrickhadfield @TheBreadmonkey
Did you ever see The Fall? The banter consisted of: "Song 1", they played it, "Song 2" etc.
@Sarahw @TheBreadmonkey I didn't, but I can imagine Mark E. Smith saying just that!
