These ICE fucks are a bunch of absolute testicles. They’re ugly, they’re too sensitive, and they crawl back up whenever there’s a threat.

I get threatened at work. Some of the people threatening me are on their to jail or in jail after doing horribly violent things. Some of them have listed addresses near me. When they are demanding my name, they get it. It’s on my ID badge, it’s on a whiteboard in the exam room, and it’s on their discharge papers. I don’t hide. It’s part of my job.

@mcnado

Funny how the ones who take everything personally are the same ones who hide and vice versa.

EDIT: I am, technically, wearing a mask in my profile picture; the irony is not lost on me. 😂

@Christian_Freiherr_von_Wolff I mask every shift. I also wear a badge and hand out my card to anyone who asks, even completely insane assholes. People have a right to know who provided their care.

@mcnado

Have you ever had to testify, either for or against, any completely insane assholes? Just curious.

@Christian_Freiherr_von_Wolff typically against, typically under subpoena in cases where police officers were alleging assault with felony serious bodily injury.
@mcnado They are cowards who are afraid they will be held responsible for their actions.
@mcnado Reminds me that my mother said when she did her ER rotation (in the late 70s or early 80s) the prison inmates were the politest and most cooperative patients by far.
@MisuseCase inmates usually are. They are either in my ER because they have a real medical problem, or because something very bad was going on and they needed a break from jail, and in both cases most folks are aware that the quiet patients hang out, get fed, and get taken care of. People in for “medical clearance” before booking are a mixed bag, mainly because many of them are drunk or on stimulants.
@mcnado Don't you guys also have weird shit like ethics boards and oversight comittees for the really experimental stuff? And given the power you have over people's live, shouldn't they make you swear some sort of oath to, like, do your best or not hurt people on purpose or something like that?
@Wyatt_H_Knott yeah. And we can be, and are, sued. We can lose our licenses. We don’t have qualified immunity.

@mcnado Oh, right, that whole malpractice thing. 🙄

"Accountability".... THAT'S the word I was thinking of, and that the ICEcapades need to learn (maybe the hard way.)

@mcnado

I would just like to comment that "testicles" is the proper term because they are sensitive.

@mcnado I would just like to comment that "testicles" is not this proper term because generally testicles are useful unlike ICE.

@mcnado

Oddly yet evocatively put.
