Back in the day, Twitter used to be really good if I set up a thread to connect freelancers with clients. Let's see if Mastodon can do it.

Clients: if you're looking for freelancers/contractors, get in the comments

Freelancers/contractors: get in the comments

Everyone else: boosts appreciated.

The market is *dead* for freelancers and a big part of that (in my opinion) is fragmentation. Let's get that network effect *back*.

#FediHire

@belldotbz I keep thinking that there's gotta be a better way of organizing around the #FediHire hashtag that's more than just broadcasting into the void....
@McNeely @belldotbz Set up a curated channel, a bit like [email protected] & co (intentionally not @'ing them).

@joachim

I suggested location and type of work hashtag. To make it easier for those searching to hire someone relevant.

Could probably set up channels do the same.

@[email protected] @[email protected] Maybe a second hastag with location you service. # FedihireSydney # FedihireLondon # FedihireUK Etc. Maybe even a third one with general area of what you do FedihireAccounting FedihireProgramming FedihireAudio FedihireHitman Get enough people using them and it will make it easier to find find someone suitable rather than scrolling through thousands of irrelevant fedihire posts.

Mastodon Australia
@SuperMoosie @joachim @McNeely @belldotbz Yeah, but location isn't relevant for many of us. I mean, I'm based in south-east Sweden, but I'm a translator so I work with clients all over the world!
