@GottaLaff @jdeisenberg Yep. Just slightly different framing but the gist is the same at MSN and US News and World Report among others: Iran gave the U.S. notice ahead of time, to prevent any casualties. So, we knew it was coming.
I don't think he should have praised Iran for giving us notice that they planned to attack a U.S. military base, even if it did give us time to be ready.
Also, regarding the veracity of sources: a simple internet search brings up the story on many media sites.

We (U.S. Intelligence Community) actually WATCHED him be bought--by the Kremlin via the Russian mob via Deutsche Bank--when his business incompetence had left him bankrupt with no honest lender willing to touch him, and he was terrified of actually being POOR. Because our due-course MISSION involved monitoring the Russians he was talking to, and he was too stupid to think that would necessarily expose HIM on the other end of the negotiations.

Iran gave heads up, which is weird but normal. He didn't "give permission" - maybe he thinks he did cause he's an idiot.
This report raises the obvious question: Did the reverse happen with trump’s bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites — did trump seek permission to bomb them.
Observers blamed trump’s blabbermouth for Iran’s ability to remove its 60% enriched uranium from danger, but maybe HE asked Iran “Mother, May I” first!
In fact we should consider the distinct possibility this was ALL a sham — starting with Israel’s sudden attack on Iran weeks ago.

Our ABC reported the day after that Iran informed US and Qatar prior to the attack. Hence, the US was prepared and the attack was more symbolic than anything.
However, nothing was mentioned about a two way conversation with Trump where he gave them approval. That's surely treason. Oh wait he's immune from prosecution for crimes committed while in office isn't he.
