The Green Party is right; we do need to sit down with the EU & establish exactly what would be needed to being a process of re-joining the EU....

'the best way to restore prosperity, protect the environment & strengthen security is to rebuild the partnership we walked away from'.

Anyone wondering where sensible people might flock to as Labour continues its lurch to the right, might want to ask themselves: why not the Green Party?

Nine years since the UK voted by a narrow margin to leave the EU: we need to begin the process of returning, say Greens - Green Party

On the ninth anniversary of the Brexit referendum, Ellie Chowns MP, Green Party spokesperson on foreign affairs, said: “Today marks nine years since the UK voted to leave the EU, a decision for which the costs have been painfully real for families, businesses and our planet. Over nearly a decade we have seen our economy […]

@ChrisMayLA6 If it would be half as successful as Reform deforming Labour party policy; it is probably worth a go"
@ChrisMayLA6 Just another reason why I joined the Greens.
@ChrisMayLA6 Just talking about doing this would be a boost for The economy.
@ChrisMayLA6
UK voters believed, many still believe the EU was the source of all woes. Always winging and whining exceptionalism the rule, many still remember the woes. EU has enough problems already without the Brexit Bus turnaround.
Remember UK was to save 350 million pounds a week as claimed by May and brainless Boris.and with that money the envy of the world nhs would become a jewel. All citizens would benefit. what resulted, conservatives made millions, the people became poorer.

@ChrisMayLA6 I couldn't resist. As an ex-lab voter I promote the Greens whenever appropriate!
@ChrisMayLA6 I guess the million dollar questions is will the EU want the UK back?

@iveyline

Indeed, and while the mood music is a willingness to discuss a return, equally its very clear this will be on the EU's terms not the UK's... whatever the entitled political class think in the UK about their abilities to shape any re-entry entirely to suit themselves.

@ChrisMayLA6
I already joined. Even if you don't want to actively campaign, we still need the membership fees as that is 90% of our funding. Plus, if you join before July, you can vote in the leadership election (I hope for the excellent Zack Polanski).

@junesim63 @ChrisMayLA6 I’m interested but where did they end up on their transphobia stuff?? Do you know? Keen to understand

@JimmyB @ChrisMayLA6
There is a small coterie of members that is transphobic and seeks to divide the party at every conference on this issue. (The same with Labour too). That's why my vote will go to Zack Polanski for leader,. He has been very clear where he stands, unlike current co-leader Adrian Ramsay.

Green Party deputy Zack Polanski has launched a leadership bid – what’s his stance on trans rights?

Green Party deputy Zack Polanski has launched a bid to be leader, but where does he stand on trans rights and other important issues?

@junesim63 @ChrisMayLA6 sadly I think it has to be a ‘you can’t be a member of’ issue - as it would be for racism or homophobia say.

But yes - thanks for clarifying. I’ll look at membership

Lifelong Labour supporter here. Joined the Greens a couple of months ago.

@Pionir @junesim63

I'm sure you are not alone (indeed, my timeline immediately confirms that)

@ChrisMayLA6 the eternal problem with the UK's electoral system is splitting the vote
