Green Parties largely domesticated.
Left parties often seem to be looking down on people.
We shouldn't be trying to educate people but to learn from them.

Don't assume populist movements are inherently anti-green. Why are governments subsidising the wealthy (e-car subsidies in Norway).
We need to rediscover #Equality - not shallow moralism or meritocracy (equal opportunities). Not a point of departure but point of arrival.

Degrowth shouldn't pretend it will mean wins for everyone
Can't get there just with 'soft means'.

EE and degrowth hardly writing about technological and military oppression by the present system

Inaugural address from Irene Vélez-Torres.
After 500 years of extractivism and colonialism in Colombia, she speaks for a government trying to end that.
Huge challenge when such revenues come from coal, oil and gas extraction with devastating impact on ecosystems and health. Extraction of value from nature and people without responsibility. Ignored in economic accounts.
But now the livestream has hung.

Must be about reparation.
Debt for mitigation swaps.
Not about replacing one energy source with another but about transforming the economy - not just technical but civilisational change.
No democracy without environmental justice.
No future if we fail to act now.
South needs a just pathway.
Beyond extractivism, beyond colonialisation, beyond growth.
Work with Colombia - another world is not only possible, it is in motion, let;s make it unstoppable.
