The MAGA nuts previously claimed (falsely) that FEMA funds were being randomly handed out to immigrants instead of used for emergencies. They're pandering to the crowd with this one, and justifying misappropriation for anti-immigrant use as being done to rectify the prior misappropriation that didn't actually happen.

Noem said the detention facilities in Florida will be funded "in large part" by the Federal Emergency Management Agency's shelter and services program, an initiative created by Congress to support groups and cities receiving migrants and asylum-seekers released from federal custody along the U.S.-Mexico border.

That’s a misappropriation of funds. They better get stopped.

@w7voa I visited Florida once. It was nice. I enjoyed the weather and that all the vegetation was green. Can we please cede it to a county other than ours now? I even have a passport, so I can visit it again at some point in the future.

I have no doubt that they’re going to point their finger at immigrants and call it an emergency though. Every executive power he has used has been intended for emergencies only, which really helps paint his presidency as a disaster scene.
