The non-Dutch mind cannot comprehend: the โ€œcar is the guestโ€-street.

Cars are tolerated in these streets, but should drive slowly and patiently behind cyclists.

Itโ€™s great.

@maaikees Dude, that is so un-American, I love it.
Colorado Springs, Manatou, lots of places around Colorado, this would be perfect, might even make me not want to leave. The auto traffic is what really makes it hell.
@TheNovemberMan hey at least you got mountains over there, we are sorely lacking those over here!
@maaikees Yeah, but when they're filled with cars and RVs and trucks and the diesel smile and smog they lose their shine really quickly.
You think of mountains, you think of wilderness, of getting away. Our mountains are so full of people and Walmart and Starbucks there's no charm left, so really hard to enjoy.

@TheNovemberMan nooooo why does everything suck so much :(

From what I've seen from Colorado in video and photo, it looked so nice!

@maaikees @TheNovemberMan What is going on in Cororado? My humble soul is eager to pedal in canyons and to traverse up mountainside. I failed your faith.
@Cyclingxian @maaikees You're better off going to Utah or Arizona.
@TheNovemberMan @maaikees I recall a friend living in Phoenix, Arizona, huh?
@Cycling@flipboard.social @makes@sw-development-is.social I have family in Phoenix. It's just like Denver, but on steroids, plus extra-extra heat and dust. I will never go there in August again.
@TheNovemberMan I couldn't agree more that pedaling in summer is very much excluded in my tips. I'm from South.
@maaikees Well, they only show you the best parts
They won't put up videos of traffic jams in Woodland Park, Colfax street in Denver, or anything East of the mountains. And it's all overrun with tourists.
When I lived in Southern New Mexico I could and did go out to the West Mesa and I could go a week without seeing a soul. Go damn near anywhere in the West half of Colorado and you can't swing a dead raccoon without hitting at least 3 people. And there are plenty of dead raccoons on the road.
