A family member is looking to get a laptop and she found one that had its storage separated into equal amounts across two devices, as if it were RAM (the SSDs were the RAM-like modules too). I don’t know if there was a RAID 0 setup or not, but I’m left wondering why do this? 🤔

@bryceac I must admit, I've never heard of anyting like that. I have seen netbooks, where part of the drive is taken for a recovery partition, and the Fujitsu Lifebook UH900, which has two separate partitions but with no recovery. But I have never seen one used as ram. I would ask if Ready Boost is being used, but even then, the drive wouldn't technically be partitioned.
@dandylover1 It’s not so much used for as it is the design of the SSD looks a lot like a RAM module. I’ve only encountered such an SSD personally once when I used to volunteer at a place that recycled computers, but such SSDs are buyable online.
