Well, I call bullshit. Sorry (canadian). It's what we do ;-)
Being tribal about D vs R when they are nearly identical is silly. USians start wars no matter who's in the whitehouse. It's what that country does. If you want a very long list, I can provide one to you covering your entire history. It's not pretty. Bad as the brits. Worse even (and I also have a uk passport, so I know).
Here is a list of which political parties have started the most wars:
Democratic Party: 7 wars
Republican Party: 5 wars
Whig Party: 1 war
The Democratic Party has started the most wars. The Democratic Party has started a total of 7 wars.
The wars that the Democratic Party has started include:
the War of 1812
the Mexican-American War
the Spanish-American War
World War I
World War II
the Korean War
the Vietnam War
The Republican Party has started a total of 5 wars. The wars that the Republican Party has started includes:
American Civil War
the Gulf War
the War in Afghanistan
the Iraq War
the War on Terror
It is important to note that the decision to go to war is a complex one.
It cannot get attributed to the political party in power. Many factors contribute to the decision to go to war.
So I think you may need to reconsider how you think of your country and global and economic affairs. Just sayin' ;-)
edit: missed a link for my quotes, but I have other links with the same info.
