Well, I call bullshit. Sorry (canadian). It's what we do ;-)

Being tribal about D vs R when they are nearly identical is silly. USians start wars no matter who's in the whitehouse. It's what that country does. If you want a very long list, I can provide one to you covering your entire history. It's not pretty. Bad as the brits. Worse even (and I also have a uk passport, so I know).

Here is a list of which political parties have started the most wars:
Democratic Party: 7 wars
Republican Party: 5 wars
Whig Party: 1 war

The Democratic Party has started the most wars. The Democratic Party has started a total of 7 wars.

The wars that the Democratic Party has started include:

the War of 1812
the Mexican-American War
the Spanish-American War
World War I
World War II
the Korean War
the Vietnam War

The Republican Party has started a total of 5 wars. The wars that the Republican Party has started includes:

American Civil War
the Gulf War
the War in Afghanistan
the Iraq War
the War on Terror

It is important to note that the decision to go to war is a complex one.
It cannot get attributed to the political party in power. Many factors contribute to the decision to go to war.

So I think you may need to reconsider how you think of your country and global and economic affairs. Just sayin' ;-)

edit: missed a link for my quotes, but I have other links with the same info.

Anyone who believes that the Democrats weren't also responsible for the wars we illegal started in Iraq and Afghanistan only need look at the congressional votes

@DoNotPunchDown
When you can jump outside and look at the big picture... it's just what the USA does. Who cares who they blame internally? The results are the same for us out here.

@Legit_Spaghetti @aprilfollies @mpjgregoire

@gemlog @Legit_Spaghetti @aprilfollies @mpjgregoire

Absolutely! We are a warmongering country with war criminals always running it.

I'm so sorry to the world for this. Hell, the US is the reason Iran has the; government it now has

@DoNotPunchDown
Hey, I'm canadian now since childhood, but I was born in the UK. You don't have to explain that kind of guilt to me. We were the assholes who taught the lessons.

> Hell, the US is the reason Iran has the; government it now has

Very true. That short list of wars goes nowhere near to covering what the USA does to other countries. Most times, it simply doesn't declare war, but act like it.
Or foments dissent internally by funding factions.
Or outright assassinates leaders.
Or trains the rebellion like they did with Saddam Hussein in the school of the americas.
Or just bombs the shit out of countries to 'save them' in a police action.
All kinds of ways to pretend.

I have long lists of this stuff with references, if you need them, but I think you already know most of it.
The very sad thing is, their in country propaganda to their own citizens via kindergarten training to revere the flag to hollywood and tv movies. Most USians truly believe that they are the Good Guys! I know right? :-) But they do. They totally believe that they stand for peace and democracy in the world, while their corporations install dicators and destroy democracies everywhere for profit. So fucked up.

Thank you for the offer but yeah, I'm aware. Sadly, many are not.

This fits very well with your note about kindergarten
