@ThreeOhFour me too. i got a pentium 133 in high school and the FIRST thing i did was install wing commander 1 & 2 on it, because i was so excited how well they might run 😭

@vga256 Meanwhile Wing Commander Academy ran perfectly even on a Celeron 333 and so I ended up playing that way more than it deserved.

@ThreeOhFour Hahaha wow. i remember having this long conversation with the only kid in my high school who played WC, and remained a WC nut for his entire life. he *hated* Academy and i never played it on the basis of that alone 😆

@vga256 It's just a super basic "pick what you want to fly, and what you want to fly against, and then do it" game. But hey, I loved that! No plot, no escort missions, just good old WC style combat.

@ThreeOhFour i just learned that it had a mission designer. that's SO cool. i would have loved that when i was a kid

i saw this game a dozen times in bargain bins, and never once did i think it was a strategy game
