It’s guided by passionate editorial staff working alongside editors and reviewers to support authors and handle papers with care, rigour and transparency.

3/ Nicola Adamson, Journal Development Editor

With a background in neuroscience, Nicola’s interest in #ResearchIntegrity led her to eLife, starting as an Editorial Assistant. Now, she has a key role in shaping our growth through tracking data trends and engaging with editors.

4/ Fiona Bryant, Senior Editorial Assistant

Fiona joined us after working as a Research Technician in agricultural science. She now supports every stage of the peer review process, making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Fiona also helps produce our Voices podcast!

5/ Matthew Perkins, Editorial Assistant

A biochemist by training, Matthew is also a passionate advocate for human rights, social justice, and decolonisation. He’s here to make sure the editorial process is accessible, transparent, and friendly, especially for first-time authors.

6/ Sam Porteous, Senior Editorial Assistant

Whilst working with us, Sam completed a part-time master’s in Sustainable Development, which he hopes to apply to our carbon neutrality. He also coordinates submissions from Review Commons and supports our Early Career Reviewers pool.

7/ Wei Mun Chan, Research Integrity Manager

With 10+ years in publishing and data curation, Wei Mun ensures every paper meets our high standards for ethics and #reproducibility. From image checks to data policies, he’s the quiet force keeping the scientific record trustworthy.

8/ Andy Collings, Executive Editor

With 20 years in scientific publishing, Andy leads eLife’s editorial team and works closely with our Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors. He’s passionate about open research and improving how research is reviewed and communicated.
