so yesterday, yet again, I got refused an Uber because of my guide dog. I phoned Uber support to report my access refusal and the customer service agent actually told me I should have ordered an Uber pet after I told them multiple times my dog is a registered service animal. So its not just the drivers now, its customer service too. I did finally get through to someone who knew the law to start the correct procedures, but the situation is just getting worse.
@josh i'm glad you finally got through to the right person to start proceedings. it's very sad it's come to this.
@josh Fucking disgusting how they do that, thank god you got through to someone who knew their stuff.
@josh there's a reason deeper than ableism behind that, unfortunately. There are people who are faking service animal status for all sorts of animals, even to the point where there are websites out there that'll actually help people to fake service animal papers. In short, we can thank the fakers for the current fubar situation.

@josh Sorry you've had to go through that with Uber & your guide dog.
@josh @DavidGoldfield I am between Guide Dogs now and the only good thing about that is that I don't stress so much about taking an Uber or a Lyft. Every single solitary time I would take one I would be stressed out that I would be refused. In the 10 years that I've taken Uber or Lyft, I've had many refusals and I've reported and actually had a couple drivers removed. Cited people wouldn't put up with this injustice and hassle for a minute.
@josh lol that's so stupid!
