Of course I've noticed that different people hold pens differently but I did not realize that these even have names - so what kind of pen holder are you? https://hachyderm.io/@mononcqc/114701663734224728

Attached: 1 image I bought a pen that ended up shaped to only be comfortable with the dynamic tripod grip, but I have always written with the lateral tripod method. So I’m doing the most logical thing and I decided to learn a whole new writing grip, messing with decades of muscle memory.

Subjectively, everything but Dynamic Tripod feels just wrong to me. Looks like the hands are cramped and they don’t have any control.
Even worse than using the left hand😁
@iamlayer8 Fun fact - of my friends, the ones that use something other than dynamic tripod have all very pretty handwriting :)
@hukl
I'll never understand how you can write a word with anything other than dynamic tripod (because that's what I learned as a child), especially the lateral versions. I often see them in movies and am full of admiration.
@hukl I swear my elementary school teachers were totally distracted or something. No one ever stopped me from writing in lateral quadrupod, and now there’s no way I could unlearn it 😵‍💫
@hukl
I think it would be interesting to break this down a bit further, because I bet left-handed people who use LTR systems more commonly use lateral grips?
