With the new AlarmKit from #WWDC25, I’m building Alarmageddon, the alarm app my girlfriend with ADHD wanted for years: one that continuously alarms you of tasks.

We call the alarms "task alarms". They’ll keep pestering you until you open the app and mark the task as done.

Alarmageddon isn’t a replacement for your to-do or alarm app. It’s a supplement for the kinds of tasks you're okay being relentlessly pestered about, with the option to quickly postpone.

I’ve been building Alarmageddons in the past few evenings and my girlfriend will be testing it over the summer.

If it holds up, maybe we’ll launch it with iOS 26 😄🚀

@simonbs that’s neat, sometimes I think I need that
@simonbs If you happen to need one more tester, I‘d certainly give it a try… 🤓
@simonbs Did you consider… Aclockalypse?
@simonbs Sounds like how I wish Apple's medication reminders would work!
@rpmik Indeed! I have it on my todo to build an alarm app specifically for medications. That’s something my dad has been asking me to do for a years and now it’s finally possible.

@simonbs So you’re redoing Due?

Due

The superfast reminder app for iPhone & iPad

@rob There's certainly some overlap.
@simonbs Can this read from Reminders (kind of like the GoodTask app)? I.e. essentially enhance Reminders with a better alarm system?
@[email protected] I haven’t integrated with Reminders.
@simonbs 👍
FYI: still very interested in this. Looking forward to you releasing it 🤩
@simonbs currently using Due for this. Have adhd so v interested in how this is different
@veitch There’s definitely some overlap. If you're happy with how Due works, you probably don't need this. The main difference is that this uses the new alarm API, similar to how Apple's Clock app schedules alarms. This only became available to third-party apps this week, and I expect Due will adopt it as well.
@simonbs I dig the colours of yours though :)
@simonbs I haven’t been able to get AlarmKit working because it seems like the entitlement isn’t available and the system for displaying alarms isn’t available in the simulator. How did you get it set up here?
@thesamcoe I’ve only been testing it on device.
@simonbs That’s where I’m having issues with the entitlement. Strangely, I get a build error saying that it’s missing but I can’t find it to add it.
@simonbs also adhd, also need this! Haha if you need another iOS 26 device to test it out, I’m happy to help
@simonbs My sister uses alarms/timers as reminders, this app will be very useful for her
@simonbs Great idea! And I love how it kinda sounds like Alarma-get-it-done
@agarrharr Yeees! Glad someone noticed that 😀
@simonbs this is exactly what I need. Make sure it supports shortcuts so it can be used as an action in a smart home scene. I always forget the laundry in the machine until it smells ugly!
