Sending love to all my fellow Dead Dads Club members today.

Here’s mine. His name was Dave.
He was a hairdresser. He loved people and travelling. He was kind and generous.

It’s been two and a half years now and I miss him every day.

Tell me about your Dad?

#DeadDadsClub

@Troggie Dad died in 2019, with MND. A horrible, horrible way to go, but he was in many ways fortunate to get that far. Had major heart surgery in his 50s. Polio in his teens. And his earliest memory was sitting on his mother's knee when a bomb landed down the street and the roof of his house blew off.

For all that, he had a good life. Was a kind, quiet man, almost certainly autistic. Loved his routines, went to the first ever race at the Oulton Park circuit and continued to go there many times each year for over sixty years. Loved food, something he passed on to me. Loved flowers. Loved travelling. Loved his motorbike, which he rode everywhere until he was 78 and the illness was taking hold.

I wish he'd lived long enough that he could have helped me when I started gardening a few years back. He'd always have known what to do, which I so rarely do.

@RolloTreadway MND is awful, I’m sorry you all had to go through that.
Your Dad sounds like a lovely guy.
@Troggie Thank you. He really was, I was very lucky.
