Yesterday, I saw #Materialists , the new film by #CelineSong , who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for her last film #PastLives #PastLivesMovie .
When I saw the trailer, it was giving me "Indecent Proposal" vibes. It does share a few common traits, but this film is so much more. Like Song's prior film, this movie is a study in relationships,
giving it a particular angle because the lead character is a woman who's a professional matchmaker for those wealthy enough to afford it. She breaks everyone down to their metrics and "does the math" as to who would be compatible on paper.
#DakotaJohnson, #ChrisEvans, and #PedroPascal are all riveting to watch. Special shout-out to #ZoeWinters in a stand-out supporting role.
