Looking over the visuals Apple has shared for the new clear theme, there are some places I've found where the contrast ratio is as low as 1.32:1.

For context, that's less than half of what the WCAG defines as the minimum acceptable contrast ratio for people with no vision issues.

Let me add a couple items to the pipe-dream list of what to do when I'm made a manager over a dev team (which will never happen, but a dude can dream)...

  • Force all QC to happen on a raspberry pi and over a 128k ISDN line
  • Force all devs to QC with a blur software filter to see if they can still use the product
  • Divide bonuses by a factor of ${number of megabytes the full website requires to load}
  • Block AI crap at the network switch, evidence of vibe coding will lead to disciplinary action
  • Force all devs to QC with use a monochrome filter to see if the text is still readable/present
  • Force all devs to bring their parents/grandparents in for QC testing to see if they can use the product
