I want to make a game with big procedural dungeons, but I’m not really sure where to start. So I’ve started reading textbooks on tectonics and structural geology 😶

@fenchel do you have an idea on how they will look like?
Will it be rooms connected with corridors? Will it be rooms attached to rooms? Will it be caves? Is it 2d or 3d? Is it only on a flat ground or does it have levels?
What's your mvp?
@Calined I want to have both, cave systems and man-made underground structures.
The world will be basically a 2d cross section. But the game itself will probably very minimal, mostly maps and texts. I mostly just wanna experiment with procedural history generation and world building.
But rock formations first :D
@fenchel interesting!
I like games that are more reduced or almost like an abstraction or slice or x Ray of something =)
Is it gonna be like a vertical slice or horizontal?
Like you see a buildings floors from the side or only see the ground level but kind of from top down? 🤔
@Calined horizontal! I like the idea of going deeper through geological strata and uncovering all sort of weird stuff :D
@fenchel I don't think I understand but it sounds like you are on a good path ^^
