On this day in 1999, we released Ágætis byrjun.
An album of sleepwalkers, submarines, and slow beginnings. 26 years on, thank you for listening.
What song stayed with you?

@sigurros mostly "Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása" and "Olsen Olsen", but also the classic "Svefn-G-Englar" (which is used beautifully and extensively in a great scene of Jean-Marc Vallée's movie "Café de Flore")
@sigurros Olsen Olsen is an all-time favorite of mine 💙
@nileane @sigurros “Ný batterí” gets me every single time.
@nileane Omg thank you for reposting this! What a nice memory, the title track is so beautiful
@toph The entire album is a gem <3
@sigurros I didn’t think I’d know how to answer that but it suddenly became obvious: Starálfur.
@sigurros the obvious answer is Starálfur, but the most underrated song on the album and probably in the whole discography is Hjartað hamast (bamm bamm bamm). The guitar tones, strings, and digital distortion on that track have all the feels.
