Largish demonstration in front of LA city hall. So far peaceful.

A whole bunch of LAPD just walked out of the front doors of city hall.

Nice aerial shot from Fox 11 (link above) of City Hall peaceful demonstration. Looks like about 500 protestors. About 100 LAPD in front of the entrance.
Now they are breaking up the protestors at City Hall. They have given them 10 minutes and are looking pretty threatening with non-lethal munitions. Protestors are ordered to move south.

Protestors are now walking away from CIty Hall.

LAPD on horseback are arriving.

Protestors are chanting "Peaceful Protest"

They are bringing in the horses and pushing people back.

This is a big escalation right now.

Horses in the middle of people and flash bangs going off.

Very crazy scene.

Looks like about 300 police. Mixture of LAPD, Sheriff, some on horseback.
To be clear, what is different about today is that this seems like a very peaceful organized protest. The are repeating "peaceful protest". There is no apparent tagging or unlawful behavior. The assembly was declared illegal and the police have moved in.

Many more American flags in the crowd.

Crowd seems to be disbursing.

LAPD is not wearing masks and their names and numbers are displayed prominently.

A few people are still in front of city hall, but most have backed off and are hanging out further back.

Pushing people back again in the park with the horses.

Very scary scene with horses going after people and more flash bangs.

Lots of people getting arrested as the curfew comes into effect.

Young woman arrested, saying she has no idea what is going on. Not a protestor, and did not know anything about a curfew.

Arrested people standing in a line with their arms zip tied behind their backs. Getting loaded onto a bus.

Long line of arrested people, each with a police officer escort.

Arrested people seem like normal folks from a broad cross section of the population. Mostly younger. Perhaps a few more women than men.

Close-up showing an older woman with white hair, fleece and a green T-shirt, just looking very sad as the LAPD officer removes the zip ties. Looks like they were too tight. Puts regular hand-cuffs on her, and she climbs into the LAPD bus.

All channels just showing LAPD process a long line of arrested people and put them on an LAPD bus. Everything is calm.

AP feed walking around in front of city hall. It is like a ghost town.

News2Share (link above) is walking with another crowd. They are chanting "Peaceful Protest, ICE out of LA." Seems like at least 100 people. Very diverse group. Mostly younger. Spirited group. They continue chanting and have cow bells.

This is a big march. Maybe 300 to 500 people.

Apparently NOT in the curfew area. It is on Wilshere Blvd walking west.

Police now showing up at the Wilshire march.

Police showed up. Fired some non-lethal bullets into the crowd and took off.

Police corner most of the marchers. Guess the term is "kettled", which means surrounded. And the police are moving in. Waiting to see what the police do.

People standing around with their hands up. A few people "escaped" over a concrete wall with barb wire."

The police are closing in tighter and tighter and the protesters are chanting "Peaceful protest."

People are terrified. One person is having a panic attack and people are asking for medical help.

Looks like about 50 to 100 people.

The reporter seems to think they may let them go with orders not to regroup.

Video has cut out.

Fascinating video.

@mastodonmigration If they sit down, they'll be a lot harder to move.
@mastodonmigration Most of the city is business as usual.

@IveyJanette

Yes. That has been the case from the beginning. The protests over the weekend were confined to a small area, first near Home Depot in Paramount, then near the Federal Building. Tonight it was a peaceful group in front of City Hall, and now marching down Wilshire Blvd.

@mastodonmigration But if you watch the Fox News Comedy Festival, Newsmax and the other comedian channels,they claim it's the entire city. With AI or old videos that are doctored to imply that the entire city is burning. Fox and one of the other channels used digitally enhanced videos of the 1992 uprising and the burning down of stores along Vermont, Western and in Hollywood,and saying that the entire city is in "chaos" . It's not.

@IveyJanette

There is a lot of disinformation.

One of the reasons for linking these live streams is to show what is really happening.

@mastodonmigration I've been cautious about linking video and streams because some of it is prejudiced towards ICE and the clown,rather than telling the truth. Including the so-called "experts" on every American channel.

@mastodonmigration

Bravo to those risking jail and more because of civil disobedience!
