Beau CollinsDoes anyone else chuckle to themselves when software people use the term "architecture" to describe *anything* they're doing?
George Hotelling@beau there's an actual architect on my Masto server that has a lot of choice words about that word.
@george I swear I'm going to blurt out "you're not an architect" or "that's not architecture" at some point.
I just need to build up enough internal social capital first.
@beau we have another guy who retired after being in software for decades and he absolutely has thoughts on the use "engineering" to describe how code is produced
@george oh yeah, I definitely never call myself that either.
We're a ridiculous industry. We do not practice architecture *or* engineering.
