With a lot of help from @stan (and over 50 contributors) the Adobe Alternatives list has been updated! Loads of alternative software, and all better choices than to keep supporting Adobe.

@kenney @stan I ♥ that each item shows supported platforms, for those wishing to simultaneously be free of Microsoft. This is quite useful even if you weren't using Adobe products in the first place.
@kenney @jannem @stan
license info would be a good addition
Even just FLOSS/prop indicator
@kenney @stan Really like that this is in github, I'll also humbly suggest this site https://alternativeto.net/

@kenney @stan as usual: I checked if #friction was listed – and was disappointed. 😐

List #friction as an aftereffects alternative already! 🤩

(don't have a microsoft account, so I can't suggest it myself)

Friction

Friction is a powerful and versatile motion graphics application that allows you to create vector and raster animations for web and video.

@mray @kenney created an issue for it
@stan thank you :)
@mray was already in the list under motion
@mray Friction was added to the list last year. It's under After Effects => Motion graphics.
@friction silly me. I only expected it as AfterEffects alternative. While it is still not listed correctly in my eyes – I should have at least searched properly. 🙄
@mray It's not always easy to figure out where to put Friction. It's not really a compositing application, so it's not a direct competitor to After Effects, but it does effects and motion graphics and have basic audio/video support... It also does vector based animation for the web, so it should probably also be an alternative to Adobe Animate.
