The latest Clip update has been stuck in Notarization for 3 days now. I swear if Apple announces a clipboard manager at WWDC…

(…I’d be very happy actually! But still)

Since 2020, we’ve released all major Clip updates the week before WWDC. Looks like we’re going to miss that this year though 🥲

Update: it was rejected because the keyboard extension doesn’t do anything if Full Access isn’t enabled 🙄

Even though the previous submissions also didn’t do anything without Full Access enabled…

ok it does something now, resubmitted *sigh*
@rileytestut should call it "paste secret hacker code” to make it sound more mysterious.
@axiixc @rileytestut "paste some unrefined macrodata" to make it sound mysterious AND important
@rileytestut you could have added "paste rickroll"
@rileytestut wtf they also have this requirement for notorization?
@rileytestut make it paste in the full text of the DMA 😄
@yusef LOL maybe I’ll try that if they reject it again 😂
@rileytestut - Did someone say clipboard history?! #WWDC
@dan I SAW
@rileytestut I love how it was such a casual throw away line. SMH
@rileytestut
You could put some default texts there that apple wouldn't like with a nudge at the top to enable full access.
@rileytestut has the EU been actually trying to remedy the issue that Apple is overtly violating the DMA by abusing notarization as a pseudo-app review?
@harpaa01 from our discussions with them yes it seems so, we should be hearing a final ruling on Notarization specifically in a few months I think
@rileytestut I thought this was the kind of rejection third-party app stores would avoid 😞
@rileytestut How is it the job of notarization to give this kind of feedback? The abuse of power is insane here.
@rileytestut and it begins the notarization weaponizing, so pathetic
@rileytestut I know they say not to ascribe something to malice that can be equally explained by incompetence, but in this case… 🤷‍♂️
@rileytestut I always wondered how a native clipboard manager would work on mobile... The concept in this recent video showed a simple but realistic integration in Control Center and I must say it looks pretty nice! https://youtu.be/ffxDpOuAlDg?t=80

Android's native keyboard is usually Gboard, which also has a clipboard manager built in.
here's a video showing that one. That's certainly the native clipboard manager on Pixel phones and such.

I was always quite fond of
CopyLog's design. It felt really good to use. Never had anything as nice since. It's way better than what Google cooked up.
Before you continue to YouTube

@sodiboo @rileytestut Oh right, I forgot about Gboard on Android. I never use the extra features beyond swipe typing.

I didn't know about CopyLog. I've been using Paste (https://pasteapp.io) on macOS since 2018 and the design seems like a 1-to-1 copy 😅

Paste – Clipboard Manager for Mac, iPhone, and iPad

The new way to copy and paste on Mac and iOS devices. Paste lets you keep, search, and organize everything you copy on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

@imkh @rileytestut ooh yeah, seems like this was the inspiration for CopyLog actually. it says so on the announcement post on Reddit even
