I used to write brutal blog posts about this guy. Now we’re … allies. Ch-ch-changes.

Via Kyle Griffin:

Joe Walsh is registering as a Democrat:

"Three words I never thought I'd ever utter: I'm a Democrat. This former Republican Congressman … this former TEA Party champion is formally joining the Democratic Party." https://socialcontractwithjoewalsh.substack.com/p/from-the-tea-party-to-the-democratic?r=4csydt&triedRedirect=true

From the TEA Party to the Democratic Party

Yup, I'm finally making the leap

The Social Contract with Joe Walsh
@GottaLaff him and Charlie Sykes:
@rateexportpilot @GottaLaff I still haven't forgiven Sykes for Scott Walker and Walker's busting up the unions. 🤬
@GottaLaff If I forced myself to be positive: It gives me hope for the pendulum swing. My living experience is being a Tea Party high schooler, and if you read me now I'm as progressive humanist (Star Trek Starfleet please) as they come. To see his generation and mine both swing to the (still a bit slow) Democrats, gives me hope for the demographic warning signs of the past election being short-term political converts who will soon see reason as the ripple effects on society get worse and worse.
@GottaLaff I’ll have him vote with the party, but I don’t trust him in any leadership position.

@GottaLaff @cmthiede

May just want to be there to flip any majority the democrats might eke out in a vote.

@GottaLaff So. "Formally joining the Democratic Party." I'm not clear what formalities are involved in joining the Democratic Party. But to me, his post reeks of political triangulation.

@obot50549535 Meaning he signed up formally, not just talk.

He's slimy. But glad he's anti Trump.

@obot50549535 @GottaLaff in some states you can register with a party. In some states, you must register with a party in order to vote in that party’s primary elections. It’s kind of a nothingburger.

@GottaLaff

If he can bring some voters along with him... I'm all for it...

@GottaLaff
Joe Walsh is the person I most frequently think of when I say that I'm not surprised some Republicans turned against Trump, but I'm constantly amazed at who and why.
@GottaLaff
So he’s basically 1944 Italy.
@GottaLaff loved him when he was plying guitar fir the Eagles.
