@overholt @metafilter It looks really pissed off. And it's understandable.

@overholt

I think the burrito is angry 😆

@overholt @metafilter

It looks like an owl in a hoodie! (Or a member of a religious order.)

I was a Maine rehabber for over 20 years. I remember the first owl. She was very young. I called our vet after I got her home to see when I could bring her in. He said " I hope you have heavy gloves". I was like, ah, no, she and I are just sitting here on the tailgate of the truck. I could feel his head shaking through the phone lol.
@debrashannon @overholt @metafilter I wish I remembered what I had done in a similar situation. I was in grad school; a girl I knew had injured her foot and couldn't drive her standard transmission. She called me and said a baby great horned owl had fallen onto her deck, and would I drive it to wildlife rehab. I got there; her cat was looking at the bird like WTF is this, and the owl was looking back like "don't even think about it." I think somehow we got the owl into a box...

I can’t quite tell what emotion that owl is projecting. I just know it looks like it’s what I feel like most days right now.

@overholt @metafilter that look of "Whoo the fuck are you"
@overholt OwlsInTowels.org is the most beneficial use of technology I've seen in a long time.

@overholt @metafilter

A hearty "Thank You Very Much!" to all the wildlife rehabbers out there who help owls and other critters survive! And thanks to all who support the rehab workers, who are mostly kind-hearted and dedicated volunteers.

@overholt @metafilter @geekmomprojects They actually have a Mastodon account you can directly follow here!

Douglas Adams was right. A towel is the most incredibly useful thing.

Do owls in towels move their bowels?
