Not all religion is based on enforcing moral laws. I think most religion has to do with ontology. Besides, this entire conflict is only about the religion of Muhammadians and the ethnic interests of Jews to get back their homeland. Ultra Orthodox Jews think Israel shouldn’t have been regained before the Moshiach arrived, and so they were fine being Dhimmi-s in Ottoman Empire.
