It always impresses me that tech people (ok tech dudes) are so steadfastly committed to conflating one very narrow form of intellectual strength with virtue, when in no other field (with the possible exception of academia) is it more clear that one person can be really smart and a fucking fool at the same time

And this isn't even a shitpost or a Chestertonian paradox. It's like being both strong and clumsy, or (conversely) thinking that because you're tall you'll never fall over
