Monkey@why2025camp I understand the good intentions, but calling it a “US Refugee village” feels off. Yes, human rights situation in the US it’s getting worse but it's not nearly as severe as the HR situation in other parts of the world.
The message it sends? A subtle form of discrimination and the idea of first and second class citizens: when people from the U.S. face hardship, support systems are created. Meanwhile, people in far worse situations elsewhere have been ignored for decades, ideas like this never even surfaced.
Solidarity means recognizing all struggles. I truly support the intent behind this, and I hope this gets fixed. At least the name should be more inclusive.
