Since postdoctoral research is supposed to be original, it is difficult to understand why use of ai is accepted as "unavoidable".
@citc because AI is embedded by default in licensed apps & there is no way of regulating individual use. Our position, if you read closely, is one of intellectual oversight at all stages of Doctoral research. Also, originality can be assessed in *how* methods are used, not just which. Our position is also that ai is a methodological choice that needs to be justified and declared. It is not possible to ban ai use at an individual or institutional level. Only pan-national agreements can do that.
