<<The boss of Australian gas giant Woodside, Meg O’Neill, has attacked young people who take an ideological stand against fossil fuels, suggesting they are hypocrites for ordering cheap online consumer goods “without any sort of recognition of the energy and carbon impact of their actions”.>>

🤔 gee, who has been telling young people about the link between consumerism and fossil fuels? have our political leaders been warning them to cut back? have the CEOs of fossil fuel companies been urging them to cut back? has popular culture started to reflect more sensible values? have our media been starting balanced conversations about urgent issues, or are they still just churning out click-bait stories about inconsequential BS?

for anyone not planning to read the linked article, i should quote some more here:

<<O’Neill was speaking during the gas industry’s annual conference in Brisbane, where the resources minister, Madeleine King, said the government was working to enhance exploration for gas while improving the approvals process for companies.

Climate advocates and the Greens leader, Larissa Waters, criticised the statement, saying it was “laughable” that a fossil fuel executive should blame young people for the climate crisis.>>

could not agree more.

yet another female showing that women are sometimes <old white men in suits> in disguise. trojan women.

the women in question are not the problem — the problem is tokenism instead of true diversity.

@maudenificent Jfc. Apropos of nothing, have you ever read Chuck Collins' Altar to an Erupting Sun? https://bookshop.org/p/books/altar-to-an-erupting-sun-chuck-collins/18959770
@maudenificent this is the woman who got the state government to ban people protesting outside her house. She had them arrested. She is a protected princess here in WA.

@Queen1066

i did not know that.
WA should have seceded before they joined the federation, imo

@maudenificent WA does seem to have an inordinate number of Queen B****es, does it not?
@Tooden @maudenificent only know of 2 off the top of my head. Unless you include the leader of the opposition. 🙃
