So, now that Arc is officially dead, what do I use? Mozilla continues it's dubious decent into idiocy, Chrome can't be trusted... https://browsercompany.substack.com/p/letter-to-arc-members-2025

Keeping Tabs by The Browser Company
I would have gladly paid $100/yr for a browser that didn't suck.
Also, if you suggest Brave, you're dead to me as well.

Vivaldi seems interesting, except... they seem cozy with nonsense VPN junk. Can Chromium be trusted?

On my Mac, I suppose I'm back to Safari, which isn't terrible (and always has spectacular battery performance).

@petrillic been using Safari since the last time Mozilla fucked up, and it seems ... buggy? like I'll get tabs that get stuck.

@petrillic

I'm trying out both Libre Wolf and Vivaldi.

What's the beef with Brave? I've never tried it.

@deirdrebeth it was founded by someone who is a raging homophobe bent on denying basic rights to people.

Oh and the inventor of Javascript as if the first wasn't enough. https://www.cnet.com/tech/tech-industry/mozilla-ceo-eich-resigns-after-controversy/

@petrillic @deirdrebeth I tried Brave, then learned about the founder and immediately deleted it.

I've spent a month now with Vivaldi and the surprising thing that has won me over is Workspaces. It's completely changed my browser workflow for the better.

@boojum @deirdrebeth that was something I liked in Arc as well, so it's a big selling point.
@petrillic Safari is more than adequate for use on Apple platforms, I have it as my main browser. Plus Waterfox for secondary, and on the PC.
