I think a lot of people have amnesia or are cool with purposefully suppressing reality.
For example, the Black Lives Matter movement started with Black and POC people marching for justice and ended with white people setting shit on fire and attacking police for fun while we kept telling those freaks to get out of our movement.
Those white people? They’re now Free Palestine.

But the fact is you can't build a mass movement if normies stop showing up for protests because they have a reputation for getting out of hand.

Claiming a particular tactic or strategy, belief, ideology, imaginary, and/or practice is limited to an identity just doesn't reflect reality. That kind of narrative has been an effective counter-insurgency strategy and was detrimental to the Floyd rebellion. Such as what occurred to the partner of Rayshard Brooks. As if the stakes are clearly demarcated, because they're not.

Rayshard Brooks was killed by the cops after people working at a Wendys called the cops on him. His partner is white and was witnessed involved in retribution when that Wendys got burned to the ground. The site became a memorial. So people alleging conspiracy and delegitimacy circulated identifying info about them, which resulted in being harmed by the cops.
the outside agitator narrative, along identity lines of ethnicity and belonging, is used to discourage and delegitimate beliefs and actions. Often this is from liberals who believe in the legitimacy of the state and its central control by force of arms. Because there is most definitely a strong black radical tradition beyond liberalism. Y'know?

Anyway, despite enjoying “Red Dawn” (Kid of the ‘80s here!) I don’t think a militia stands a chance against the full force of the military. I wouldn’t encourage that.

I don’t advocate for creating militias (which are illegal). If the US military began attacking US citizens I think it would be divided between the MAGA/Fascists and those who don’t want to shoot their neighbors

But yeah, liberal gun owners exist. One of the dumber things I’ve seen here from the leftists is the criticism that Kamala Harris talked about gun ownership as if that was a horrifying thing for her to talk about and it disqualified her from being electable for them.

Maybe a lot of people do it for the wrong reasons or are careless. But that part is hard to study. A significant number of people have their guns used in an unintended way, like a family member gets a hold of it. Our gun homicide rate is awful for a high income country. Sad.
Anyway, hope it never gets to the point where anyone has to worry.

It's just the culture war BS on all sides makes it very difficult for many of them to be out about it. I know folks who are more comfortable discussing their gender and orientation than admitting they own a firearm.
Some of the most well trained and armed folks I know are not cis,het, white men.

I can only relay my observations and reported information on new gun buyers which have been people of color. I acknowledge that people of color are subject to a significant amount of gun violence. The thing is try being a Black person who has a license even. Just doesn’t work for us. We get shot for having a loose cigarette or a water gun in our purses or really just sitting at home on our couches.
