The Linux Experiment Podcasts

@thelinuxEXP Hi, slight clarification.

The GDM launching x11 is not about gnome-x11, that one we consider unsupported entirely and wouldn't even care about preventing it. If someone managed to get the x11 gnome session they are already on their own.

The GDM discussion is about "preserving" the functionality of GDM being able to launch any x11 session (meaning other desktops, cinammon, xfce, etc) as some people use GDM with those apparently.

@thelinuxEXP Also it's not really "preserving" as there needs to be extra work done to keep this working, while dropping X11 bits from GDM itself.

From what I've seen, GDM is not the default manager of any other environment either, it's mostly people that chose to switch to GDM for other reasons and not very common configuration.

@thelinuxEXP Do you have a website with articles or transcribing your audio and video? Since it's very difficult to translate by ear. I translate faster from text 😁

You have a great blog🤝👍

@thelinuxEXP Nice video Nick. We would love to see you doing something on Open Source Education?
