@bean I follow interesting people. Sometimes, I will do the search on a hashtag to see what people who I don't follow and are not being boosted by those I follow have to say. Mostly, that's about breaking *news*, not "topic of interest".

I don't object to people hashtagging their posts. I do, of course, object to people whose marketing advisors tell them to add 25* hashtags to their otherwise mundane observations. I generally mute or block in that case.
