Another Tapestry release where we had to keep an eye on the 4,000 character limit on What’s New.

My favorite thing about this release was doing the social actions in an extensible way: any connector can use this new API. It’s also something that we can iterate on with future development.

As with most things it was @bigzaphod’s good idea. I just ran with it.

Tapestry 1.2: Actions (and sounds!) to soothe the social beast • The Breakroom

We’re back with another major Tapestry update chock full of features and improvements that you are sure to love. There’s a ton of new, exciting things in this release including some that have been requested since the app’s launch – so let’s get straight to it! Likes, boosts, and bookmarks. Oh my! That’s right, now you can perform […]

@chockenberry @bigzaphod not seeing the like/bookmark features on individual accounts. Is this correct?
@JeroenSchaper @chockenberry they only work for the full account connector - following an individual account (or hashtag or whatever) doesn't need an account so it doesn't know how to fav/boost/etc for those. (At least not right now.)
@bigzaphod @chockenberry ah yeah, of course. Hadn’t thought of that! Thanks!
@bigzaphod Not sure I’m understanding. For example, I follow @chockenberry with this account and this account is connected in Tapestry, but when I view posts in Tapestry sometimes I see the social actions and sometimes I don’t:

@ccunning @chockenberry if you have multiple devices, make sure they're all updated. Syncing of the items with iCloud might be sometimes getting them from the outdated device which doesn't tag the items correctly to show the actions.. so they might be fighting.

Also, depending when you updated, older items might be missing the right metadata, too.

@bigzaphod @chockenberry

Just the one device, but I just updated and am catching up on everything from this morning so second paragraph probably applies to me. Thanks 🙏

@ccunning @chockenberry ok, that sounds likely. You can probably force-fix the issue by using Settings > Advanced Settings > Clear Feed Caches and picking the mastodon feed, but it's probably not necessary.
@bigzaphod @chockenberry That post from Craig just happened to be the old/new demarcation. Everything after has the social actions. I just happened to be paying close attention at the exact wrong moment 😅
@chockenberry @bigzaphod Is it intended that I need a happyfox login to view the knowledge base article?
@Ragashingo @bigzaphod No. What’s the URL and where did you see it?
@chockenberry @bigzaphod Clicking on the Knowledge Base link in the blog post I get:
@Ragashingo @bigzaphod Should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads up!

@chockenberry @bigzaphod Yep, yep!

I was excited to read about the new API. Seems y'all are making nice progress on the "do more than read" side of things. :)

@chockenberry @bigzaphod Just catching up with Tapestry now—some really great work! Love it.

Question: Is there a blessed workaround for following a given Twitter account? I know X is locked down these days—but there's still a couple accounts with updates I can only get from there.

@zero_gravitas @bigzaphod No idea. For pretty obvious reasons we have completely excised Twitter from our lives.

In theory it’s possible, but it’s going to be ugly given the way they treat developers now.
