Sometimes, the stuff that @pluralistic writes makes me angry. Not at him, mind you. I know where to direct my pitchfork and torch.

Pluralistic: Are the means of computation even seizable? (14 May 2025) – Pluralistic: Daily links from Cory Doctorow

@bobschi @pluralistic yeah. In that case I recommend both reading and avoiding "Radicalized". There's a story in there about folks living in a large building. There's the regular entrance and there's the affordable housing entrance. That story is stuck with me and I'll leave it at that.

That's the same one with subscription toast too if I recall.

Though I much preferred the story where the billionaires died of easily preventable stupidity in their stupid apocalypse bunker while all the regular people got busy with #solarpunk and had a great life.

Can we fake a giant world ending #apocalypse that lures all the #billionaires into their doomsday #bunkers so we can all get on with fixing everything and each other? thaaaanks.

Not so much fiction as a case study. Or yet again someone taking a speculative fiction dystopian tale as a guide book rather than a warning.
